RogersTV and Championing Concussion Awareness

In recent years, there has been a growing focus on concussion awareness, particularly in sports. Highlighted in a recent episode of “Daytime Ottawa,” the discussion emphasized the critical need for better assessment and management of concussions. Terry Kell, CEO of Agile Intelligence Solutions, introduced an innovative digital platform designed to streamline the management of concussions in sports. This tool, developed in collaboration with the Coaching Association of Canada, addresses the requirements of Rowan’s Law by providing a comprehensive system for tracking and managing concussions. It integrates player rosters, establishes a Circle of Care, and ensures all protocol steps are followed meticulously, creating a digital audit trail that benefits players, coaches, and healthcare providers alike.

Laurie Boschman, president of the Ottawa Senators Alumni, reinforced the importance of such tools, reflecting on his own experiences and the broader implications for sports at all levels. The platform not only aids in the immediate response to suspected concussions but also supports ongoing care and safe return to play. With its adoption by numerous sports organizations, including those in Ottawa, this initiative marks a significant advancement in protecting athletes from the long-term effects of concussions, ensuring their health and well-being are prioritized.
